HERE IS ONE MORE TRICK FOR CONSERVING MILK AND SPENDING LESS MONEY ON A YUMMY GLASS OF DAIRY GOODNESS.
BEING THE FRUGAL STOCKPILER THAT I AM, I PURCHASE POWDERED MILK IN BULK
25# bags from Morning Moos or the church cannery for < $1 pound
THIS INSURES A GOOD SUPPLY OF MILK IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES
from Mother Nature or my own doing
Here's how I use it in our everday life:
♦make it ahead of time, ad a dash of sugar and bit o' vanilla extract. chill overnight. can be by the glass or in a bowl of cereal.
♦make it and add it to your gallon of milk at the half to 3/4 mark in most cases your family will never notice and you'll extend that gallon jug
♦make it ahead and keep on hand at all times for cooking and baking. this keeps you from depleting your "drinking" supply.
Mix 3 Tablespoons of powdered milk per cup of water and viola'. I usually make 3 cup portions and keep on hand in the fridge then I am able to use it for baking, cooking, making sauces and gravies as well as buttermilk, condensed milk and evaporated milk. Recipes coming soon!
♦use it in chocolate or strawberry milk....what a great way to disguise the taste!
When you consider the prices of bulk milk...
each cup will only cost you pennies.

Good one Carol. I seem to have quite a bit of this myself.
