I've been asked a lot why I do multiple transactions when shopping. Since most stores have limits on how many coupons you can double in a transaction, you need to go through the check-out mutliple times to maximize your coupon savings.
Example:
Dannon Kid's yogurts 8 pack $1.99
I have 5 coupons for this $1 off each
Dananino 6 pk kid's yogurts $1.99
I have 5 coupons for these too $1 off each (see why mutliple inserts are handy?)
To get the most mileage out of my coupon savings I am going to do 3 transactions using Safeway
Transaction #1
4 Dannon kid's yogurts 8 pk smoothies $1.99
Use 4 $1/1 coupons
Double 4 up to $.50 (total $2 off )
Total = $1.96 for 4 yogurts
Transaction #2
4 Dananino 6 pk kids yogurts 8 pk smoothies $1.99
Use 4 $1/1 coupons
Double 4 up to $.50 (total $2 off)
Total = $1.96
Transaction #3
1 Dannon kid's yogurt 8 pk smoothies $1.99
1 Danonino 6 pk kids yogurt
Use $1/1 Dannon
Use $1/1 Danonino
Double 2 up to $.50 (total $1 off)
Total = $.98
Total for all 3 transactions = $4.90
If you did only 1 transaction using coupons and 1 doubler the total would have been $7.90
If you only used coupons and no doubles the total would have been $9.90
Without coupons or doubles the total would have been $19.90
And if these hadn't been on sale the total would have been $32.90
THIS IS WHY COMBINING STORE SALES WITH COUPONS AND MULTIPLE TRANSACTIONS GIVE YOU THE MOST BANG FOR YOU BUCK!!
